On Friday August 9th, start your weekend with an evening of fashion, art and rooftop drinks at the Metropolitan Museum of Art! Get tickets here: https://www.womenofculture.org/events/fashion
First, we will dive into the art of fashion with a guided tour through some of the most fashionable highlights in the Museum’s collection, highlighting clothing represented in stone, wood, paint, and other media from all over the world.
Then, we will be given an insider’s introduction to the blockbuster CAMP exhibit before having time to explore it for ourselves. Called “a high-ceiinged, over-the-rainbow extravaganza" by the Wall Street Journal, the exhibit examines how the elements of irony, humor, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality, and exaggeration are expressed in fashion.
We will end the evening with a sunset viewing of Alicja Kwade’s Parapivot and drinks at the Met’s rooftop garden. Additionally, Women of Culture members (all levels) are invited to a members-only dinner at nearby Grazie afterwards.
Get ready to think about fashion and its influences in a whole new way, all while bonding with fellow artful women and soaking up some beautiful rooftop views! Wear your favorite camp-inspired outfit and get inspiration from the celebrities at the Met gala here.
All tickets include museum entrance (memberships aren’t valid due to museum policy), guided tour and 1 drink on the roof. Get tickets and more info here: https://www.womenofculture.org/events/fashion
