Who: All women ages 13 and up!
Self-defense is a set of awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills with safety strategies and physical techniques that enable someone to successfully resist and escape violent attacks.
Self-Defense training can increase your options and help you prepare responses to de-escalate, or interrupt an attack. Like any tool, the more you know about it, the more informed you are to make a decision and to use it.
What does the Workshop Cover?
Workshop activities and discussion are designed to help women identify risks, evaluate their strengths, and to explore their options for dealing with the threat of violence. Class activities focus on awareness, body mechanics & language, and practicing verbal & physical strategies.

- Techniques against common holds and strikes
- Techniques for ground survival
- Legalities for self-defense
- Weapons and alternatives
Who can Take the Workshop?
Everyone can improve their skills and expand their options in case of an
attempted attack. You do not have to be athletic to use the techniques taught.
* Bring a sweatshirt, wear comfortable clothing, and leave necklaces & jewelry at home.
Instructor, Adina Gonzales has over 10 years of Martial Arts training and expertise and is a 3rd Dan Blackbelt in Judo and trains in Brazilian Jujitsu. Adina is also certified instructor for the American Women's Self-Defense Association.
