Won Moving Meditation is based on a series of slow movements, breathing techniques and focussed attention which help to free up and increase the energy flow within the body, relaxing the body, calming the mind and bringing us into the present moment. Won Moving Meditation programs include Tai Chi, Qigong, Yin Yang Mudra, Buddha’s Mudra, and Warm Heart Supple Body for sitting practice and Shipsang Meditation, One Circle Meditation, and Sŏn Yoga for standing practice. The principles of Yin and Yang and Taoism are synthesized in the practice.
The benefits of Won Moving Meditation are reducing stress, relaxing the mind, muscles, tendons, joints and inner organs. It improves posture, balance, flexibility, circulation, strength, stamina, vitality, digestion, cholesterol and hormone levels, blood pressure, immine function and mental acuity. Every third Saturday of the month, we gather to briefly discuss a topic or theme Won Buddhist practies and then practice Won Moving Meditation. We joyfully welcome and encourage all individuals from all walks of life to join us! Please sign-up in advance, but walk-ins are welcome, too.
Suggested donation for each program is $5 - $15; however, no one is turned away for lack of means.
