Guest Speaker M. Zachary Johnson: Bringing Music to Everyday Life

Guest Speaker: Matthew Zachary Johnson: Bringing Music to Everyday Life

Music brings joy and builds communities. Join professional composer and musician M. Zachary Johnson for a discussion regarding how to make music an integral part of your classroom and home. Mr. Johnson will share musical pieces and techniques that you can use readily in your environment with children ages 3-15. Participate in a discussion to address the value of utilizing music as a tool to teach the engineering design process through learning to make instruments and using movement to teach pacing and tempo. Learn Mr. Johnson’s methods to extend the learning hours beyond the music class as students joyfully play and make music together after the music teacher is done.*

*$5 admittance fee at the door.

Light refreshments will be served.

Our students break into a song while drawing, building, cooking and playing. How can students come to effortlessly incorporate singing and playing instruments into their lives? We have found Mr. Johnson's techniques to be very effective. I invite you to join us and make these techniques your own.
