Worcester Areios is a peer-led discussion and support group for gay men in the Worcester and Metrowest areas. "Areios" is a lofty title bestowing aspects of Ares, the ancient Greek god of war. The purpose of this group is to help each other overcome challenges like a warrior: forthrightly, honestly, and with the strength that comes from self-knowledge. We do this by holding friendly, respectful, and confidential discussions. We can learn more about ourselves, and about each other, when we sit down together and talk things through.
Membership is limited to adult biological men. Your profile pic must include your face if you wish to apply.
Members will be added on a first-come, first-served basis, with the following proviso: your meetup.com picture MUST include your face, AND your answer to Question 1 needs to show that you read and understand the group's description at a basic level, i.e. that Aerios is NOT an erotic/dating group.
Your peer leader (David, the organizer) will schedule meetings, arrange for a venue, and help organize the group's meeting time (2 hours) in order to prevent chaos and to make sure every member gets adequate time at every meeting.
Beyond this, the group is what YOU make of it, together.
Aside from organizational tasks, David is a peer participant and has the same commitment to respect and confidentiality that we ask of each member.
This is a peer-led discussion group and does not constitute group therapy or any kind of medical or professional advice.
