I started to use Jetpack again on several website but I have an issue with Carousel showing very low and blurred resolution of photos. I did some research and seen several discussions on the same subject, any resolution in sight or any specific setting to modify to solve the issue? Thanks

Too fast. Didn't get much out of it. Disappointing.

Hey guys, I left my power cord plugged into the wall near the podium, can someone rescue it for me? I can pick it up anytime today/tomorrow. Thanks!

Suzette was great, as always. Super informative since I have used jetpack in the past but haven't taken a look at the newest features it was nice to have them laid out. Will definitely take second look at all the new features. Thanks Suzette!

Coming into this meetup I was not big on Jetpack. I've used it on a number of sites but always thought it a big bloat. Hearing about some of the performance optimization baked into the plugin eases my mind a bit. Sure, it's a huge freakin' download (for a plugin) but as long as you don't activate a bazigillion of the options and have forty plugins activated on top of it you should be good to go. The stats are invaluable for many clients. The comments are meh, the contact form capability has it's place. Photon is awesome and so are many of the sharing capabilities. Suzette laid it out in an easy to digest and fun format. Kudos! Plus the pizza was good and Chris shared some awesome Gform goodness that has applications for any business. Only thing better that would be better would be if the meetup was in downtown... don't hog it all North County!

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention, which I think is totally awesome, is that even if there are other plugins that perform the same function ie social media and sharing, they are not being actively developed like Jetpack is, so any flaws or updates to some of the APIs that render features useless, as we have seen with Facebook when they changed to Open Graph or and most recently to Twitter. The Automattic team is on it and turns out an update with a solution very quickly, as they have done with Twitter Stream. Kudos to them!

That's a great point Suzette. I've been using JetPack on a few sites for a while now, and have definitely seen a number of cases where Automattic has stepped up with fixes to issues. It's not always overnight, but they seem to be refreshing things at a faster pace lately. Thanks for the presentation yesterday, it prodded me to play around with a couple JetPack features I wasn't taking full advantage of yet.

I've installed it on a couple of sites this morning. I'm looking forward to the referrer URL stats.

Suzette provides the right amount of information to help evaluate a plugin for use and highlights the pitfalls you might run into - simply invaluable!

Not 100% I can make it, but wanted to save myself a spot. I'll remove myself tomorrow morning if I can't come.

    June 22, 2013

Thanks Derek, it will be awesome to have you there to help field some questions. I wish let Suzette know your expertise and that you will be there to bounce stuff off of.

I work in Esco and could get there by 8. Is there any chance that the meetup will go to 9? Would it be worth while for me to swing by on my way home?

    June 23, 2013

    • Brad

Meryl, the meetup is usually starting to die down around then. You are more than welcome to stop by and see though. Everyone is different depending on the content and attendee interaction.
