The WordPress Meetup is hosted at The House, a co-working space for creative businesses in the center of Tunbridge Wells.
The meetup is a collection of site owners, developers, designers and marketeers interested in WordPress.
This month we're looking at alternatives to WordPress as a CMS, and in particular in what conditions is WordPress not the best match. We're delighted to have 2 web experts to give us the benefit of there extensive experience;
Kevin Gillard of Really Quite Something (reallyquite.com (http://reallyquite.com/)) is a web and app developer specialising in the Open Source CMS Drupal. Their clients include the festival OnBlackheath and tunepropeller. Kevin will expand on the reasons and conditions they would recommend Drupal over WordPress to their clients.
Trevor Spink is MD of Tunbridge Wells Digital Agency, Eonic - https://www.eonic.co.uk/ .
Eonic started the development their own in-house CMS platform EonicWeb in 2002 and have continually updated and evolved it ever since. They have recently released it on an OpenSource licence http://www.eonicweb.net (http://www.eonicweb.net/) , and are looking to build a wider user base.
Trevor will explain their decision to develop and stick with their own platform and its advantages, rather than using one of the “run of the mill” alternatives.
The format will be the same as in May with the most welcome addition of Pizza from ASK:
