SPONSOR:
Special thanks to our sponsor Kinsta for helping us find a space!

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
This is a hands-on workshop covering WordPress development using existing APIs.

IMPORTANT: You should have a working knowledge of WordPress, HTML, CSS, & PHP or Javascript.

In this workshop, we will demonstrate how to use existing WordPress APIs (Including the Gutenberg Blocks API) to create settings pages, admin pages, make external requests, and programmatically customize themes.

You'll get a quick overview of which APIs do what & how they will matter in the new WordPress 5.x. We will even include resources so you can build something with APIs yourself.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Victor Ramirez began his foray into the interwebs building websites and email newsletters for various high school art projects. He is currently a lead software engineer at Dow Jones and owns AbstractWP - a WordPress focused marketing agency. In his free time, he teaches high school students to code & coaches professionals in New York City.

ATTENDANCE:
If you are a no-show to 3 events, you're out of the meetup.

What is a "No Show"
Ways you could be considered a "no show"
1) If you RSVP "yes" and don't show up.
2) If you RSVP for one or more guests, and any one of them don't show up. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR GUESTS ATTENDANCE IF THEY ARE UNDER YOUR RSVP.

Why is this important?
There are limited seats available for each event. By being a "No Show", you are denying someone else's chance to attend the meetup.

How To Avoid Being a "No Show"
1) If you RSVP Yes, show up.
2) If you RSVP guests, make sure they show up (check on them.) If their status changes, update your RSVP.

Not showing is not cool...
