🗣Craig West - Progressive Web Apps (PWA) :

Your client loves the site you have built and asks: “Can you also build me an app?“.

PWAs are regular websites that have progressive enhancements to create the look and functionality of mobile apps. One can add as few or as many PWA features to an existing website and leverage offline capability and many other features that native apps have.

In this talk, we will look at some demo PWAs and learn how to create offline functionality, the ADD-TO-HOMESCREEN icon, Push Notifications and BackgroundSync. PWAs currently can do much of what a native app does and the gap between native app and PWA is constantly closing.
A resource pack with the talk slides and list of great resources will be available.

Craig West is a Brighton-based WP developer and is interested in Agnostic WP, Web Components and PWAs.
