A magical tour of the senses through the pages of THE NIGHT CIRCUS

Pre - Happy New Year to you all,

Although I am still a mess in so many ways than one to describe I have come across a book that has excited me and motivated me to invite you all to come and join in a discussion over coffee (or wine indecisive right now) to review a wonderful book by a relatively new author ERIN MORGANSTERN who wrote THE NIGHT CIRCUS.  It is a wonderful book that while reading it reminded me of some other favorite authors of my past.  There are elements that invited me back to read JITTERBUG PERFUME by Tim Robbins and the wonderful book LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE by Laura Esquivel.  But don't get these confused with this writer's magical book.  This is a different story entirely of its own magical merit.

As most of you may be aware I am now living in the Plano/Frisco area and am still exploring great venues that will welcome our group for a discussion.  As of this moment I am still locating such place for this meeting.  In due time I will announce the location.

Also one more tease; I have contacted the author to request a quick appearance from her via web-cam.  She too is a lover of red wine so I hope the time and date will work for her and she finds this agreeable.  As soon as I get an answer I will update.

Cheers to All!

Tiffany

I also had a blast and enjoyed meeting everyone! Both the venue and the conversation were great.

Had a great time as well! Getting off topic gave me a whole list of books to add to my must read list.

Loved the discussion, got lots of great ideas for other books to read that I hadn't even thought of. Great company, good wine and a great book! Perhaps a midnight dinner is in order?

tiffany, this reminds me of the novella by collette, called the vagabond, only due to its subject matter. it is also good. have you read it? (too bad, though, that collette is unavailable for a discussion). i love her work, esp. cherie and gigi. :) & her autobiographical works are quite special...
