Gypsy Stars & Romany Johnny Band Polish Romany Music and Dance troupe

Gypsy Stars are a Romany Music and Dance troupe, currently living in England. Originally from Poland, they moved to London in the early 1990's.

They are lead by Jerzy Kaczmarek and his wife Beata. The band consists of family and friends who have have played together for several generations; musical skills and traditions being passed down through the family. CurrentlyBlanko (Jerzy and Beata's son) is the youngest member, playing violin alongsideRobert Gabor the bands other violinist.

Traditionally the male members of the band play the instruments – Double Bass, Accordion, Acoustic Guitars, Accordion and Violin. The women sing most of the vocals and dance, wearing traditional Roma dress; long colourful flowing skirts and blouses. The band's studio recordings utilise some electronic elements – keyboards and drum beats, however their live concerts focus on traditional live instruments and are always a vibrant occasion. They perform Gypsy songs from all over eastern Europe, but also some from Spain.

Roma Jonny Band- off shoot of Gypsy Stars -

Johnny Roma Band are Roma (Gypsy) instrumental band based in London, although all members are originally from Poland.

They play instrumental music from a variety of east European countries, including classic Roma tunes such as Caje Sukarije (Beautiful Girl) by Esma Redzepova, and the Russian tune Ochi Chornya (Dark Eyes.)

As with many Roma/Gypsy groups they adopt the songs they play to showcase their own musical strengths – in this case Violin, Accordion, Double Bass and Acoustic Guitar.

The band formed early in 2012, although they have all played with each other for several years in Gypsy Stars and in informal busking line ups.

Daniel Debicki - Guitar
Robert Huczko (Jonny) Double Bass
Robert Gabor - Violin
Zbigniew Dymiter - Accordion
