  • Woz U Java Instructor Workshop
    Java is an industry-leading, enterprise level programming language. It was designed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems 1995 and is now owned by Oracle. Despite being an older language, it has maintained, and even increased, its current hold on the market, thus providing many opportunities to developers who know Java. Because of its age, it is a proven language that large corporations such as Amazon, Google, eBay, Intel, Capital One, American Express, and many others. Our director of academics, Nick Suwyn, will be leading the workshop. Nick began programming at the age of 11 and quickly found a love for the art and began putting it to use as any young boy would by creating computer games. Throughout his career, he has enjoyed learning a myriad of technologies but has come to call Java his primary language. After a few years of professional development, Nick combined his education and programming experience by joining Coder Camps as a Full Stack Instructor. Please bring your laptop and arrive 15-20 minutes early to get settled in. The Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) is a software development process that helps developers build more secure software and address security compliance requirements while reducing development cost.     Since its inception in 2001, Agile Development has become a core concept to how most development teams operate. However, it’s practicality and implementation is often misunderstood or even disregarded in favor of perceived immediate needs. Coder Camps instructor Steve Bishop will take you through the 4 core values of the Agile Manifesto and explain the benefits as well as the application of each value. He will also explain how a simplified planning and designing process that can help make Agile much simpler to implement within your own team.
