What we're about
Write Club Bangalore, at the time of this writing, has survived (some would say thrived) for 237 weeks. When it was first conceived, the founders wanted it to be a place where people came to write. Over the months we've tried to remain true to that philosophy, and we believe that you learn to write only by writing, and that some writing, regardless of its quality, is better than no writing.
Our meetups are structured around this premise. All our hosts strive to keep talking time to a minimum. They introduce a topic, give examples on how the topic is best written about, and then they give out exercises for the group to work on. Exercises typically take 40 minutes of writing time, and after that we have a session of reading where each member reads out his work.
We meet in the offices of Salmon Leap Associates which is located on the second floor of Sana Plaza, on 21/14A MG Road. Vijay, the man who runs the place, is one of our oldest members, and he graciously allows us to use his conference room week in, week out, free of cost.
We've recently begun archiving all our Write Club material. If you'd like to see what we're all about, please download some of the material from our previous session at the below link. It may help you make up your mind.
