What do you want to write and why?

I feel good writing. Writing is uplifting. Words just pour out of my head all the time. I am constantly thinking of synonyms, homophones, fancy words, simple words, verbs not to mention prepositions! :P I love to write poetry, descriptive writings novels, radio scripts, I am exploring myself with words so I would love to try all that comes my way.

Would you be happy to do some writing exercises as part of the group? Reading out the results is optional!

I'd love to write a lot of exercises and open to feedback! :D "Nice" is not feedback. Why is it nice is feedback.

Do you have a project you're working on? Would you like to bring some of your work to share with the group for feedback?

Lots of writing happens all the time in my life. I pen down my thoughts, look for characters. When I see people, I describe them in my head. Square face, chiseled nose, pug nose, depressed, happy, walked like the world was on his shoulders, walks carefree, her ponytail swished to rhymes of the wind, I would like to bring some poetry someday and read it to you guys :)

Do you have any influences or favourite authors?

Bharathi, Thiruvalluvar, Rumi, Karnad, Kambar, Twain, Weiner, Blake, Christina Rossetti, Emily Bronte, Sidney Sheldon, RK Narayan, Charles Dickens, ee cummings; Truth, Harper Lee, Jeffrey Archer; John Grisham, Dan Brown, Preeti Shenoy, Enid Blyton, Milton, Virginia Woolf, Kamala Das, Camus, Nabakov, Homer, Sappho, Austen, Burns, Rhys, the list is never going to end.

What Soumya R is saying about this Meetup Group

My mentor, guru, friend and guide told me of this place. I gave it a shot. It's heartwarming when others read their Art. Their reading soothes me. I always read stuff to my brother, my friends. For a change, I thank God that I get to listen people read. Their reading is not just reading, I perceive they pour their heart out. And they do. The experience is sensual, warm, delightful, sometimes satanic yet the best of it all... FREE! A Literature student's dream come true. Looking forward...
