Markdown is a lightweight markup language with plain text formatting syntax. It is designed so that it can be converted to HTML and many other formats using a tool by the same name.
The power of Markdown is its ability to let technical and non-technical authors alike write valid HTML in a way that doesn’t feel like writing code.
* In the lecture portion of this workshop you’ll learn what Markdown is, how to use it, and why it has become so popular.
* In the open discussion that follows we can discuss tips and tricks for using it, including editing software, “flavors” of Markdown, and GitHub workflows, as well as its limitations.
Leon Barnard, from Balsamiq Studios, will lead this workshop.
