Lightweight DITA is a new version of the DITA standard that allows you to use HTML5 or Markdown for input (without writing XML). But it still includes DITA's powerful abilities to classify information and re-use content across publications. Some of the available tools for DITA already support Lightweight DITA, or plan to: oXygen, FrameMaker, and DITA-OT. Intrigued?
