Next Meetup

Chichester - Fortnightly Afternoon Meetup
General chat about our writing projects and exchange of information about the writing market and opportunities. We will also read pieces of work (not mandatory) and provide/receive feedback (again, not mandatory) to help improve our work. There will, on occasions and time permitting, be short writing exercises on the night. Please bring pen and paper. Some example of your work if you would like to read it to the group, but this is optional and no-one will be expected to read work in public if you are uncomfortable doing so. First attendance at a Meetup will be free, thereafter £1.00 per meeting to help cover Meetup running costs.

What we're about

Writers of East Hampshire and West Sussex.

Writing can be a solitary experience and this group exists to provide support and mutual encouragement to others. We write for ourselves, families and friends and, perhaps, to reach a wider audience. We share a passion for writing and, together, we are looking to improve and develop our writing skills through an exchange of ideas, knowledge and experiences, constructive feedback and positive inspiration.

We welcome enthusiastic writers, both published and not, from all backgrounds and skill levels.

You may be a story teller for adults and/or children, novelist or short stories, a poet or a recorder of lives: imagined and real, your own and others. Scripts, Articles, Novellas, Blogs - the only limitation is our own imagination.

People write for a variety of reasons: pleasure, performance, pay, personal growth or self-expression. Whatever the reason, if you would like the company of others who share your interest and think you might gain something from being in a writers group, come along. The group will provide a helpful environment for you to explore and improve your ability through regular meetups.
