Writers Cowork in Center City
COME OUT AND GET YOUR WRITE ON!!! Finding the time to write is tough. This meetup is gives you the chance to sit down and get some writing done in the company of people who know how important it is to get those words out. We'll have a few minutes at the beginning and end of the evening for socializing but the night is really about the writing. Come with your computer or notebook and be prepared to work! Here's the format for the evening*: 6:30 pm: Arrive, get your food/drink, get settled, and chat for a bit. 6:45 pm: Stop talking, Start writing 8:15 pm: Socialize and pack up 8:30 pm: Meetup ends The larger tables at Good Karma comfortably seat 4 people, and if needed, we can put two tables together. The cafe serves soup, sandwiches, salads, and the usual list of beverages, and there is free wifi. Please order and pay at the counter. Info on parking: Let me be blunt: Parking in Center City sucks. If you are lucky, you will find street parking. Otherwise, the closest garages are probably at 10th and South near the Superfresh and Whole Foods. (I think the entrance is on 10th, but i'm not certain). You may find cheaper parking if you look further away. You may wish to take public transit. There are several busses that run through the area, and the cafe is about 4 blocks from the Broad Street subway, 6 blocks away from Market East station, and 2 blocks from the 9th/10th street PATCO station.

What we're about

“Writing, at its best, is a lonely life." - Earnest Hemmingway

According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coworking): "Coworking is a style of work that involves a shared working environment, often an office, and independent activity."

This meetup is for folks who are looking to get together to write. You'll share the same room, restaurant, coffee shop, or table but each work on your own stuff independently. No more lonely writer woes!

Anyone can host a meetup! Just post the date, time and location of your coworking session so others can RSVP and attend. This meetup is for any kind of writer interested in working in communal space. My hope is that it will evolve into a community of people providing coworking space and support to each other 7 days a week!
