For anyone doing storytelling, slam poetry, dialogue in a play, stand up comedy, or any other writing that is meant to be delivered verbally to an audience, it can be hard to know if it's working when it's just on paper.
This Salon we'll dim the lights and use a microphone to share verbally and record ourselves to see what emerges and what sticks. Laughter, questions, applause and all forms of feedback invited. It's like an interactive open mic.
The first 15 minutes we'll say hellos and get snacks before stepping up to the mic at 7:15 for 2 hours of "writing out loud." Each writer / performer will get 8 minutes of mic time. As always, snacks and drinks provided but feel free to bring one (or a drink) to share.
Writer's Salon is a group for all writers, whether you are active or aspiring; an author, poet, comedian, or playwright; an extroverted artist seeking humans or introverted linguist seeking accountability. We meet (mostly) weekly to (mostly) write together. It doesn't matter what you're writing or whether you use a paper and pen or computer, come one and all!
