Family - Children's Rune Study and Craft

  • Jan 4, 2014 · 2:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

This is a companion meetup for children as part of a year long project. While the adult class uses and builds on previous knowledge, this track allows kids to join in at any time.

Each month there will be a brief rune introduction of 2 runes of the Eldar Futhark. Children attending each class will make a full rune set! For younger souls, drawing and other play and craft projects will be made available.

For those attending the rune class, they may have to be available for rotation as responsibility of caring and teaching the children is shared among the parents.

Special For February 2 class!

We will be having a Disir Ritual right after this meetup at 4:15 PM. Children will also prepare the offering by communally shucking corn or apples, coating them with peanut butter and bird seeds, and binding them with string so they may be hung. The Disir Ritual (or bloat) is an offering to the female goddesses, land spirits, faeries and other gentle beings. Its purpose is to enhance the coming harvest. Parents are encouraged to bring in seeds to be blessed as well. Please check the meetup for that specific event for details!
