What we're about

We are Monmouth & Ocean County NJ Atheists, not Anti-Theists, who want to have fun with like-minded people. We get intellectual stimulation from our local Humanist and Freethought groups. (Find your local group in the secular directory: http://www.seculardirectory.org/find-a-group/ .)

We have a closed facebook group for discussions between events: https://m.facebook.com/groups/714449948604693?ref=bookmark

Please no religion bashing or political posts here. We are here to create an entertaining and positive community. Please feel free to make suggestions for outings and activities. We love new ideas!

FYI - These are the pins that we bought to help us find each other. We bought some extras so we will give pins to people who come to our meetups while supplies last.

Kite Day!

Seven Presidents Skateplex at Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park

It's almost Kite Season! Please join the Red Bank Humanists and Your Friendly Neighborhood Atheists (YFNA) for a windy afternoon of Kite Flying on the Long Branch beach on Saturday, May 4th (Rain Date will be Sunday, May 5th). We will be gathering on the beach at the north end of Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park. Please park in the parking lot associated with the skate boarding park, Skateplex, on Atlantic Ave., near the Branded Skate Shop. From there you can get access to the beach, right across Ocean Ave. There are public bathrooms located next to that parking lot, if you need. Please bring a kite, or better yet, build a kite and bring that one. Check the weather and dress appropriately to stay warm and comfortable. Also, bring a beach blanket or chair, snacks and drinks (extra points for hot drinks in a thermos). And always remember,... Safety First. Whether you are flying alone or in a busy park, it is good to remember the 3 C's of kite safety: Caution. Courtesy, and Common Sense. Parks, beaches, and playgrounds can be crowded, with many different activities competing for space. It is each kite flier's responsibility to fly safely so that we continue to be welcome at our favorite windy places.
