Already in mid-May there has been one foot of snow on our alps. See:
Drive up Saturday morning for 3 days of cross-country skiing/snowshoeing/bushwalking, depending on conditions.

Benbullen (http://mountbawbaw.com.au/benbullen/) is a warm and inviting lodge in a premier position with spectacular views. Semi-private bathrooms, gas ducted heating and a large open fireplace. Guests are required to provide their own linen and bedding, however some extra blankets are supplied in case they get too cold. Benbullen is owned by a group of volunteers like us so of course we need to treat the property with respect as we would for any thing else we borrowed.
There are plenty of activities we could do if there was no snow including: bushwalking the alpine plateau, mountain biking, (Recommended trails for mountain bike riding include Beech, Latrobe, Village and McMillan's Trails), and, for the less adventurous, sit back, relax and take in the stunning mountain views.
All participants must contact Kenton before RSVPing and paying, to ensure this is a suitable trip for you.
A week or two before we go, the leader will organise car pooling and will distribute more detailed information via email.
