“These trees are grown and distributed throughout the city as part of beautification projects throughout the DFW area. So not only are we helping the environment, but we are helping to beautify the city we live in.”
You can expect to be doing mostly weeding with a little bit of relocating trees at the farm. Depending on weather we may be doing some transplanting. Bring clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and closed toed shoes are highly recommended. They do provide one size fits all work gloves so if you have any at home with a good fit I recommend bringing those.
We will be starting at 9:00AM, but you can show up anytime in the morning. It's a very casual environment. On weeding days we tend to stop at or around 12:00PM and for those interested we can decided to get together and do lunch. This is a great event to hang out with and get to know your fellow volunteers while we do a little manual labor.
Richland College location at 12800 Abrams, Dallas, TX 75243 (across from Parking Lot C at Richland). You can see the trees from the southwest corner of Abrams Rd and Walnut St.
