Mr. James Macarthur
Chief Executive Officer, WorldQuant (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.
Mr. Sahil Aggarwal
I completed my Bachelor degree in Computer Science from IIT Delhi in 2012. After graduation, I worked with Adobe Systems India for a few months before joining WorldQuant Mumbai as a Quantitative Researcher in November 2012.
As a researcher, I focused on making trading signals in various asset classes including Equities and Futures. I have passed CFA level 2 exam and completed an online Data Science course by MIT. In January 2018, I joined the Portfolio Manager role with specialization of VRC alphas.
During my free time, I enjoy playing sports like table tennis and cricket.
About the Company:
WorldQuant is a quantitative investment firm founded in 2007 with over 750 employees globally. WorldQuant develops and deploys systematic investment strategies across a variety of asset classes and global markets. We seek to continuously produce high-quality trading signals (alphas) through our proprietary research platform to employ trading strategies focused on market inefficiencies. The IQC is a three-stage, team-based university competition running from March through September 2019. We invite you to form a team of one to six individuals and compete initially at the local level. If your team scores well, you may have the opportunity to take part in your country or regional finals — and potentially in the global championship to be held in Singapore!
The competition will take place on WorldQuant’s intuitive, web-based simulation platform, WebSim, an online environment for developing and backtesting predictive mathematical models (alphas).
What’s in it for me?
1. Compete for cash prizes from a pool of up to $100,000 for qualifying top performers, subject to eligibility.
2. Select members from teams advancing to the global finals may be invited to play chess against World Champion Magnus Carlsen during an exhibition in Singapore.
3. Learn more about quantitative finance, and expand your educational and career objectives.
4. Network with others who share your interest in quantitative research.
WorldQuant is always on the lookout for talent, and participants who score well in the IQC may be considered for consulting or employment opportunities to join our global team. After the 2018 IQC finals, we offered five full-time positions and 15 internships worldwide.
