Yin Yoga Intensive: Level 1
This intensive training will empower you to teach safe, effective, and compassionate Yin Yoga classes. It is appropriate for those interested in exploring Yin Yoga, dedicated students of Yin, and yoga teachers of all traditions. Yin Yoga comes from the Taoist tradition of being in harmony with the rhythm and flow of nature. Yin emphasizes long mindful holds (2 to 5 minutes) that promote growth, clear energetic blockages and enhance circulation. Yin is an excellent practice for increasing flexibility, meditation, injured/active athletes, and those new to yoga. This meet-up is for people interested in practicing Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga comes from the Taoist tradition of being in harmony with the rhythm and flow of nature. Yin emphasizes long mindful holds (2 to 5 minutes) that promote growth, clear energetic blockages and enhance circulation. Yin is an excellent practice for increasing flexibility, meditation, injured/active athletes, and those new to yoga.

Class meets Saturday: 5pm to 6:30. We will practice yin asanas for 75 minutes and end with a 15 minute guided meditation.

First class – Only $10

Instructor Bio:

Nya Patrinos (RYT 200), a competitive athlete from the age of 6, started practicing yoga as a way to heal chronic knee pain after all else failed. She is passionate about yoga, art and meditation as tools for healing. She has studied Therapeutic Vinyasa and Yoga Philosophy at Loyola Marymount University, Yin Yoga under its founder and lineage holder Master Paulie Zink, Yoga Nidra at the Yoga Academy of North America, and Yoga and Art at AyurYoga Eco Ashram in Kerala India. Having worked as a Set Decorator for twenty years in the high pressured film industry, she has used yoga, art and meditation for stress management, personal balance and to enhance overall well-being.
