What does energy mean for you?
Energy is contagious:
Either you affect people or you infect people.
Whatever this means to you, you probably can easily relate - with some situation popping into your mind - either being on the receiving end of affection or infection OR being the one who spreads affection or infection...
Our whole world of likes and dislikes is full of energetic kicks we get out of liking or disliking - one reason why Yoga & meditation emphasize moderation and balance so much, because being affected or infected by our likes and dislikes all the time can become pretty unhealthy or drive us crazy with highs and lows and other emotionally attached outcomes. Therefore Yoga promotes neutrality, trying to make us aware of the inclinations of our egos to like, dislike, and be judgemental - and then having to deal with the consequences such behaviour has attracted.
Albert Einstein is quoted with saying: "Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another."
We all have probably seen examples of that happening somewhere or have even witnessed it happening within ourselves: How love can turn into hate - or even the other way round!
In our 'Yoga for the mind' opening sequence this week we will look at how we stir and navigate our energy potential - what quality of energy do we have going on, what do we put out, what do we attract, what do we take in and how we can transform our current energy potential if needed...

Welcome to this Yoga class for beginners & intermediates, 75 minutes, intuitive and gentle with a challenging edge for healthy expansion. I am a certified and registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (https://www.yogaalliance.org/TeacherPublicProfile?tid=152246) and a teacher of the team at the Yoga & Qigong School of Sumner (http://www.yogaqigong.co.nz/teachers.html) and specialize in intuitive yoga. My teaching is based on Hatha Yoga and the sessions will not only introduce you to yoga and guide you during practice, but also provide deep relaxation at the end of each class. I am also always happy to support you in developing your own personal practice.

I encourage the usage of intuition in practicing Yoga. This can greatly help with learning to listen to your body, gently adjusting the postures to your individual needs, enhance your overall well-feeling, and support you to create a practice which becomes uniquely your own. Relaxation, conscious breathing and a good warm are also important components.
