It is so easy: With paying attention to our breath we can take control of our mind, our emotions, our energy levels, and our body of course - we can take control of everything! With being in control of our breath, we are de facto in control of our whole life. One of the best quotes about this comes from an unknown source: "When you own your breath, nobody can steal your peace."
In order to be able to take control of our breath, paying attention to our breath comes first. And that is where most people get lost already, because breath happens automatically, as we all know, whether we pay attention or not. The quality of our breath though, and with it the quality of our lives is dependent on whether we pay attention to our breath or not.
The reward of paying attention to our breath is huge: "Anything you wish can happen" if you "just pay attention to your breath"!
In our 'Yoga for the mind' opening sequence this week we will direct our attention to just this: Paying attention to our breath and tools & tricks how to remind ourselves to actually do so.

Welcome to this Yoga class for beginners & intermediates, 75 minutes, intuitive and gentle with a challenging edge for healthy expansion. I am a certified and registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (https://www.yogaalliance.org/TeacherPublicProfile?tid=152246) and a teacher of the team at the Yoga & Qigong School of Sumner (http://www.yogaqigong.co.nz/teachers.html) and specialize in intuitive yoga. My teaching is based on Hatha Yoga and the sessions will not only introduce you to yoga and guide you during practice, but also provide deep relaxation at the end of each class. I am also always happy to support you in developing your own personal practice.

I encourage the usage of intuition in practicing Yoga. This can greatly help with learning to listen to your body, gently adjusting the postures to your individual needs, enhance your overall well-feeling, and support you to create a practice which becomes uniquely your own. Relaxation, conscious breathing and a good warm are also important components.
