What we're about

Welcome to Yoga & Meditation Studio Palm Beach

We are a Community based group. We work with other Yoga Meditation Studios on the coast offering FREE by donation or low cost classes. Our prices are in line with the guidelines given by the Gold Coast City Council and their Get Active initiatives. In order to be included on their websites prices need to be below $15 - which ours are way below. We are all volunteers, funds go towards purchasing and or maintenance of equipment, hall hire, meetup website costs, admin etc,. We operate in the red most of the time but if there are extra funds available at the end of each financial year they go to worthy charities.

It's Time

To ... "GET OUT" of the house. Step outside your comfort zone and try new experiences. Challenge yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Be brave, expand your awareness and dig a little deeper. You will be pleasantly surprised by what you find.

This is a group well suited to everyone. Are you brand new to yoga and meditation, OR are you already aware of the awesomeness of these very powerful, health giving practices.

If you are new to the practice of yoga and meditation here's an opportunity to learn more and to try it for yourself.

Feeling A Little Intimidated

We all have to start some where. All levels of fitness are catered for. Start with the gentle yoga until you are ready for the more strenuous and challenging yoga. Just have a go and then you decide for yourself when you are ready to make the transition to the next level.

As the old saying goes, "the proof of the pudding is in the eating" or another aptly penned quote, "only a surfer knows the feeling" it's that kinda thing.

Our Members

Have a look at the activities "on offer" and choose something you are interested in or think might be a good fit for you. Our members are aged between 20 - 60 probably a 50/50 mix of singles and couples. Just a note, we are not a singles group.

I find that in general women are very consistent and attend more regularly. We get together from time to time in groups, mostly centered around a scheduled yoga and or meditation activity. No big parties are planned for the near future.

You hit that join button because something about Yoga Meditation and associated activities caught your attention, don't let that be the extent of your involvement. Get in there and rsvp for something, try your best to attend at least one or two activities a month. Make a commitment and see it through. You will experience the benefits if you do.

Getting started

I wanted to start this group as a way of sharing the amazing gift of meditation and yoga with others in the community, and to create an environment which catered for people from all walks of life.

We are not just about a healthy holistic lifestyle, working with the body, and taking it safely to the edge. We are also about finding out how to tune into our own body, becoming more aware of how it functions and of your limitations.

We are also about tapping into our spiritual potential, this is where the fun and true power lies, the power to transform lives. There is nothing airy fairy about this practice of Yoga Meditation it's foundation is rooted in very ancient wisdom and philosophy. The key to which is a very simple process. You won't believe how easy it is.

Inquisitive... just starting out exploring the yoga lifestyle? Or already embracing the journey with enthusiasm. What ever level you are on this group will suit you. The novice, as well as ALL truth seeking introspective souls.

Our classes have been donation based until recently. We still have some classes which are FREE or donation based BUT our hatha yoga classes are now charged at a low cost community price of $5- This is to help cover all costs associated with this group such as substitute teachers, new equipment, meet up website membership fees, electricity, Internet, telephone, etc,. Our classes are run on an honesty system and yes ALL tips are accepted ... Lol ...!

We are really looking forward to purchasing more yoga equipment this year, this is one of the reasons we have switched to a set fee.

Charity

Any money left over will be donated to either one of these charities at the end of each year. Bravehearts, Foundation for aged care, Animal Welfare League.

Barter system

We also offer a barter or karma yoga system for our classes and or Yoga Meditation Retreats which you can inquire about.

Teachers

Our teachers are well trained and have been practicing yogis for many years. Our substitute teachers are also either fully qualified or senior trainee yogis and yoginis.

I am also a fully qualified masseuse having trained at the Santa Barbara School of massage and holistic therapies California USA.

As well as all of the different types of meditation, pre-meditation and yoga classes we run on a regular basis we also hold other classes. Have a look at the "What's On Offer" List above as well as this short list below.

Ukulele lessons, Sound healing Therapy (Tibetan singing bowls) Lei making classes, RAW uncooking classes, Vegan cooking classes, Vegetarian cooking classes, our very popular Yoga Meditation Retreats and so on ... This list will be added to on a regular basis.

Pretty Pics

To become a member it is a requirement that you submit a 'REAL' photo of yourself and leave an introduction. After you have rsvp'd, come to a class and have been introduced you can change your photo then if you like. A couple others have done this already. We are NOT comfortable with incognito members. We encourage openess and want to know who you are. A photo is a great place to start.

Sometimes pics of group activities are taken to be uploaded to our yoga meditation community site. If you have any objection at all, let yourself be heard, let me know. I check all the pics first to make sure everyone is looking their "very" best ... Lol ...! So, I am in charge of quality control. We would like to have nice looking good quality pics uploaded only.
