Are you slouching in front of your laptop with a flat white in your hand, stressing about deadlines yet also booking your next 3pm ukulele class? Life as a freelancer has lots of perks (hello freedom!) but we sometimes forget to stop and take care of ourselves. Bouts of stressful project work can mean we stay up late (Netflix also plays a part, hey), eat junk food and collapse on the sofa at the end of the day. It’s only natural. Because when you work for yourself there is nobody telling you to stop, and so you don’t. It takes discipline to manage your time productively and take care of your body and mind at the same time. Loneliness, stress and terrible back ache are all too familiar to a freelancer. But the good news is there's one thing that combines • healthy moves to fight bad posture, • breathing techniques to relax your body and mind, • meditation to connect to the universe (without wifi) ..that's yoga! Hatha yoga instructor Valentina will be teaching in English at amazing co-working space MOB-Makers of Barcelona. Her classes will focus on spinal health, core strength and flexibility through playful asanas and mindful movement. You won’t just be going through the motions: breathing exercises, mantras and guided meditation will help you get in the zone to reap the benefits of each session. You’ll come out both relaxed and energised, ready for the rest of your day (or night!). Classes are open to freelancers and anybody who needs to stretch, feel good and make friends. Suitable for absolute beginners and advanced practitioners.
