October is breast cancer month. I cant think of one person who hasn't been affected by cancer in some way whether that be knowing someone who is going through it or has been through it themselves. One of the members Sara was telling me about this great event.
Not only will this event raise more awareness it will also provide more resources for our local families impacted by cancer.
After the walk, there will be food trucks, pop-up shops, performances, a wonderful survivor ceremony, a survivor area where survivors will be spoiled, a kid's zone, and a team tailgate area as well.
All funds raised will be used for a cancer resource in Riverside called The Pink Ribbon Place that provides products such as wigs, breast prosthesis, mastectomy bras, surgical camisoles, etc., one-on-one & family counseling, exercise classes such as water aerobics and yoga specific for cancer recovery, support groups, cancer & nutrition classes, therapy through art, and educational seminars all free of charge.
Register early to receive a free t- shirt!
For adults, it is 30 dollars and 20 dollars for students.
You can register on pinkonparade.org.
I was also thinking that would be cute if the group wore shirts that said sisterhood of the traveling pants.
It's time to parade your pink and support our local families!
