York Bicycling is NOT a cycling club. But it IS an on-line site for local cyclists to find and organize group rides in the York County Pennsylvania and surrounding area. So there are no dues, no obligations and no boring meetings to attend! Just open group rides!
This page is not affiliated with any one person, club or bike shop, though individuals, clubs and bike shops are encouraged to post rides. Our goal is that eventually all open rides in York County Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas will be posted here. This Meet-Up site is accessible to all who enjoy the social interaction of group rides and endorse the idea of "The More the Merrier" when it comes to riding bikes.
We also have a Facebook page for all of the chitter-chatter that cyclists like to engage in when they aren't cycling. Please join if Facebook is your thing by using the link on at the bottom of this home page.
This will be a true C pace ride. 14mph 25-30miles route to follow early evening Saturday.
As mentioned earlier, this will be the follow-up ride to Wednesday's 🇨🇦 Day ride. Weather supposedly super hot, hence opting for an early start, if too early comment up (i rather would sleep in, too 😜) & will accommodate a later start. Yikes! That's a lot of technical details.......bottom line: intend is to have good ride in great company & on roads mostly absent of cars......also debating for a different starting location to avoid Board Rd, however not too far off - think Manchester/Mt. Wolf........happy 4th 🇺🇸🇺🇸 everybody!!
Steady paced (17-19 mph) ride to Mt. Gretna/Cornwall area in Lancaster County. Water/Fuel at 45 miles. Helmets are mandatory. No headphones allowed. Tail lights recommended. Departing Fincor parking lot, across from Stonybrook Shops in East York. 3750 E Market St, York, PA 17402
This will be part 2 of the long weekend ride series. While trying to avoid the real hot hours of the day i still would expect a toasty ride. The pace might be a wee bit above C. Mileage 30-35....some minor hills.......routing in progress.......2Bposted before the end of day......the usual starting location. ENGEL parking lot on Board Rd.
C Pace: 12-14 MPH. Probably a little faster because the route is so flat.
35 Miles, 1,500 Feet, about as flat as things get around here!
Early start to avoid the worst of the heat.
No Drop, No Apologies
