Mini Series of Seminars on Machine learning

Part I : Machine Learning conceptual Introduction

"a guide to keep the rest of us sane when the technical team mention AI"

One of the core fundamental technologies at the heart of all AI technology is machine learning.

Dr Suresh Manandhar : holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh. For the past 23 years he has been an academic at the department of Computer Science at the University of York, UK where he is currently the Head of Artificial Intelligence Research Group. He has a wide range of research interests in machine learning and natural language processing. Some of his current research themes are deep learning models for natural language processing, deep learning for medical image processing, community discovery using content and link analysis, answering complex questions, unsupervised learning of morphology, dialogues systems and mapping natural language to knowledge graphs. He has successfully graduated over 19 PhD students (from the University of York) under his supervision and published over 110 papers in peer reviewed conferences and journals. He currently serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Natural Language Engineering and Journal of Applied Intelligence. In addition to his academic interests he also has keen industrial interests and currently advises a number of companies
