Meet, Greet and Critique Your Work
Many of you are aware that I will be starting a series of photography workshops by the end of February 2018. As a means to get things rolling with our group, I want all of us to get to know one another by starting a series of critique events held at my studio in Newmarket. This will be an ongoing series that will bring people together to discuss their photography and to provide feedback from myself and other photographers from within this group. I have been a photographer for 30 years and an instructor for 16 years at Humber College. I have also hosted numerous workshops across Canada and the United States. During this time I have learned one important lesson which is, people love to discuss their photography and receive constructive input on how to improve their technical and artistic skills! The critique series will be the first step in bringing our group together and will provide you with an opportunity to collaborate with like minded photographers and myself and participating in discussions that will improve your photographic skills and understanding of photography. Participation will be limited to 12 people for the first critique. This will allow time to look at and discuss each person's work and to engage in friendly discussion. We will run a slide show of work that we will discuss. If you can't attend this critique, don't worry... there will be many more to follow. Depending on levels of interest, I would like to offer the critique events every two weeks. What to bring? 1) Send me 2 images of work that best describes your interest(s) in photography. Send .jpg images sized at 1200 pixels long (horizontal image) or 1200 pixels in height (vertical image). If you do not know how to resize and format images, bring these images on a USB drive and we can all go through this process together. Email these images to [masked] 2) I will provide snacks and refreshments and request a $10.00 fee to cover these expenses. You can pay by PayPal or cash at the door. 3) Critique attendance will close once 12 people have signed up on a first come, first serve basis

What we're about

My name is Paul Eekhoff. I'm a professional photographer and former instructor at Humber College's Creative Photography program. I have produced work for national and international clients and have developed workshops for beginner, intermediate and advanced photography students and hobbyists for the past twenty years.
Of note, I am the only photographer to have a permanent installation of work hanging in the Law Society of Upper Canada.

I will be launching a series of workshops in 2018 and will initiate this program in late February - beginning with a macro photography workshop. Workshops will be limited to a small number of participants to guarantee individual attention and advanced learning opportunities. The macro photography workshops will be held at my studio in Newmarket, Ontario. All materials will be supplied. I am currently determining pricing and length of the workshops.

If you're looking for a workshop designed by a working professional (who holds an MFA) with years of teaching experience and technical knowledge, this series of workshops are for you! I can guarantee you will complete my workshops with a new set of technical and creative solutions that will improve your photography and will get you ready for the spring and summer shooting season!
