Join us in your lunch break on Wednesday 22nd April, where we’ll be exploring how to get in and get on in tech.

With a focus on social mobility, our speakers will be sharing how you can understand and overcome barriers to develop your skills and also encourage positive change by giving back to the community. Whatever your background, academic discipline, skillset – there are many ways you can get into tech and progress your career.

With diversity and inclusion at the forefront of #YouEqualTechMidlands (YETMidlands), our goal is to connect the technology and digital industry to the outside world, through learning, sharing initiatives and having the opportunity to hear and see role models from under-represented groups in tech.

Whether you’re working in tech already, or are thinking of making the leap, #YETMidlands events are about coming together to learn from others in this space - and meeting new people who can support and champion you in your career.

We'll be joined by:

Ben Lee, Course Assistant at School Of Code

Ben went from being a breadline jazz guitarist to a passionate software developer and teacher in under a year. He now works for the School of Code helping to get more and different kinds of people into tech. He will be talking about the high’s and low’s of his journey into technology.

Sean Allen is the Recruitment Manager at BJSS, an award-winning delivery focused IT consultancy with over 25 years’ software delivery and IT advisory experience.
