  • Dec 21, 2013 · 8:00 AM

Hi !
Me and a friend are looking for a group to go snowshoeing on December the 21th. Rawson lake is sait to be a beautiful place. We don't know a particular trail, we want first to find people who know this place to help us organise it !

Guys, I will be parked at the parking lot located North of the C-Train platform. More precisely, nearby the "Big Bucket Car Wash". Thanks

Hey guys! So I'll have some space in my car too if you need. I think I miss the message saying where we meet up. Thanks!

Hey guys, my friend and me got cut in something for the morning breakfast with some poeple that are living for Ontario so we will still go snowshoeing there but will maybe not be able to catch up as early on the morning we should be able to live Calgary around 10 but I don't think we will make it for earlier. We will maybe see you on the trail tho!

No worries. It would be nice if we could meet up over there. We could also meet after the hike if the group is interested in going to Canmore.

Hey guys I'm in too. I'm having a car, a friend will maybe come with me. We were maybe thinking of heading to Canmore after tho so depending of what's happening we could maybe give a ride to some people!

Pierre has Three places in his car that's very cool. Is there other people who have car ? And how many people need a carpooling ?
(I know that so far we are four to need it : j.gael, Kyle, Vic and Me)

Hi there, I might have a guest coming with me that's why I am not too sure about the number of people that can carpool with me. If you are fine with being 3 people in back seat, then I can certainly offer a ride to 3-4 people depending if I am alone or not. I will know later this week. For those interested, please send me a private msg so that we can exchange our phone number.

I see that some people are interested, that's cool ! However, let me remind that it's just a suggestion, but I don't know right now a specific trail, and I personnally never went snowshoe.

So, does someone know the region and could lead the group for this hike ?

In addition, is there people who has car to share it (price will be share too ! ^^). I know that at least three participants don't have car.

    Thank you !

I went to this trail yesterday and it's a really nice one with excellent views and not very busy. It's a pretty straight forward trail starting from upper kananaskis lake

Go to the further most parking lot. The trail head starts there. There is a signboard for Rawson lake there

Ok so I found it !

Take exit 118 from Hwy 1 (Trans Canada) near Morley (east of Canmore) and follow #40 south into Peter Lougheed Prov. Park. Follow road past Pocaterra Hut and turn left into Upper Kananaskis Lake parking lot (just after William Watson Lodge). Real easy to find. The trailhead begins here which is situated on Upper Kanaskis Lake.

    9 kms
    5hours
    moderate
    300m elevation
