Eat a Super Bowl, watch a Play

We'll eat dinner, served in a bowl. Then we'll watch a play, performed on a stage. Mocking sports is encouraged, but not required.

It will cost you about $40, plus transportation.

Dinner

First, eat a super bowl of ramen, at Asa Ramen. That's the kind of super bowl I'm talkin' about. What did you think?

It runs about $10-$15 per person, plus extra for CH3CH2OH (drinks) or "feed me MOAR" portioning. I heard they charge extra for cheesy puns, so I'll will bring my own and you should, too.

They've got 4 / 5 stars on Yelp: http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/asa-ramen-gardena

Play

At 8pm, we'll see the play Maggie's Getting Married.

It's a comedy, and here's the synopsis:

Written by Norm Foster
Directed by Jack Messenger

On the night before the wedding of their youngest daughter, Maggie, and their soon-to-be son-in-law, Russell MacMillan, the Duncans have gathered for one final family party. When Maggie’s older sister returns home for the wedding, she discovers that she knows Russell a little better than Maggie would like her to and the mayhem ensues. In the midst of all of this, Maggie’s father tries to find a subtle way to question his daughter on her choice of a mate. Written by Norm Foster, Canada’s funniest and most produced playwright, this rip-roaring comedy will have you laughing up the aisles and leaving the theatre with a side-ache.

“This is quite possibly Foster’s best play to date. The laughter never stops.” -The Guelph Mercury
