"Peace of mind is not the absence of conflict from life,
but the ability to cope with it." -unknown
YPC Chicago has been guiding children since 2012. We help your children in grades K-8th grade tap into their inner strengths and learn about important topics such as self-acceptance, inner peace, conflict resolution, anger management, mindfulness, growth mindset, empathy and compassion.
We teach children the tools they need to empower their lives by guiding them in learning to help themselves and then seeking to help those around them. Peace begins within and then is reflected out. We offer exciting lessons based on the themes Peace for Me, Peace for Us, Peace for Everyone, Peace for the Planet. YPC Chicago promotes positive peacemaking skills which empower children and their families to make a difference in their communities.
Our meetings include story time, discussions, games, crafts, open gym time, and a nutritious meal. There is no cost and no obligations. We are a nondenominational, non profit group. All are welcome and treated with respect. We share a mutual respect for ourselves, each other and our facility. This allows us to offer a safe non judgemental place for members to share, comprehend and connect with all present. We meet 15 times throughout the school year on Saturdays from 5:30 to 8pm. Parents are welcome to stay. All our volunteers are registered youth workers. More information may be found at our website
