Who We Are Our group strives to provide opportunities for the growth and conversation within our community.
Our goal is to create spaces of openness, safety, and understanding through the formation of friendship and a network of support.
What We Do Our events are as diverse as our members! We love to eat, drink, and be merry (happy hours, brunches, dinners), but we are also interested in personal growth (meditations, discussions/seminars, volunteering), and physical well being (dance classes, exercise groups, hiking).
Our leadership team is always open to member feedback to provide new and exciting events, so if you have any ideas please let us know!
Group Expectations Community Guidelines Any hateful conduct, abuse, harassment, threats, bullying, stalking, spam or generally inappropriate behavior is not allowed. We want a safe, happy community and any member found to be fostering ill will or solicitation will not be welcomed or allowed to participate in our group. If you are experiencing problems with other members that you feel are inappropriate, please do not hesitate to reach out to leadership to report any incidents.
Attendance Policy Our attendance policy is pretty simple: if you RSVP for events, but do not show up or change your RSVP to “No”, or you don’t communicate with the event host – it’s a mark against your membership. Each member can accrue up to three no shows/absences before a member of the leadership team will remove them from YPBWA. We've had event hosts show up to events and no one showed up. Out of respect for our time and to reduce risk of public embarrassment, please communicate if you RSVP "YES" but do not plan to show up.
Membership Dues Each member will be required to pay a small $5 fee annually. These dues are to cover the cost of Meetup’s group fee/reserve fund for future events and can be paid via Meetup, cash, Venmo or Cash App (etc.) to a leader of the membership team. Please plan to pay your dues starting June 26th.
For current members, the deadline to pay is July 26th. For all old and new members, payment must be received by the end of the first month (trial period) of joining.
Understand that the five dollars is nonrefundable should you choose to leave the group in the future or are removed.
Thanks to those who have made contributions to our group prior to the new dues policy.
Are you ready to join us? Great! Please answer ALL the following questions we ask of you. To build a better community, we need a sense of who you are and what you’re looking for within the group.
