Doing good while doing well has been core to Young Professionals of Chicago from day one. In 2013 we are taking it to the next level by partnering with Causemopolitan and Chicago Non Profit to host a monthly Charity Networking Event. Every third Thursday you will find us at a new Chicago venue hi-lighting an exciting and innovative Chicago based Non Profit.
Last month we raised $817 for Spark Ventures! Join us in February as we do it again, this time benefiting Charity4LIFE! The party starts at 6:00 PM Thursday, February 21 at West Loop hot spot Nellcôte. Your $12 donation ($7 for YPC members) gets you in for a hosted vodka reception from 6-7pm and a great time all night -- and the best part is 100% of your ticket price benefits January's featured non profit: Charity4LIFE!
Charity4LIFE’s mission is to provide resources to rehabilitate street kids worldwide. We encourage humanitarian efforts and provide social advocacy through weekend warrior activism.
Who is “The Street Kid”?
On the Street: Children on the street earn their living or beg for money on the street and return home at night. They maintain contact with their families. Oftentimes they are inadequately protected, supervised or directed by responsible adults.
Of the Street: Children of the street are homeless children who live and sleep on the streets in urban areas. They are totally on their own, living with other street children or homeless adult people. Some children of the street may have been abandoned and rejected by their families while others have left their families due to prevailing circumstances.
A child who is forced to live on the street lacks the parental care, affection, education and opportunities for healthy growth and development and is forced to fight a daily struggle for survival.
