    Fair Foods of Dorchester (FairFoods.org) delivers fresh (rescued) produce to about 70 sites (only some - ~32 - are made public and publicized), and they hope to add MORE sites.

    Each site is hosted by a local organization (mostly nonprofits, but some are for-profit residences).

    Each site needs unpaid volunteers to help (a) unload the truck(s), (b) set up the tables and produce (in order by weight, from heavy to light), and (c) bag the produce into standard bags, which each sites 'neighbors' will come by (during the 'open' period) and take for $2/bag.

    Most sites get freshly-baked bread (baked fresh that morning).

    Volunteers get to take home one or two bags for themselves and 1-2 loaves of bread, also - because they volunteered.

    To volunteer, in-mail the Meetup event host and say specifically which site and which date and time interests you (so that you can be registered in advance as a volunteer). In that in-mail, please provide your ACTUAL e-mail address, real full name, and phone number.

    Please bring lots of extra used but clean and reusable plastic bags for the bagging.

    Bring with you some means for transporting your own 'comped' produce home with you.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Currently, Fair Foods supplies food to 68 bagging and distribution sites in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Quincy, Revere, and a few other places around 'Greater Boston'!
    Operational needs and shortfalls are NOT trivial. They are non-trivial.
    We need expert, effective help!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Want to HELP more Bostonians - students, elders, budgeters, families eat more vegetables:

    Only 32 of those sites are publicly listed at: http://FairFoods.org/dollarbag.html

    Which sites might best interest you and others who are perhaps talking with you about Fair Foods?

    We need:

    • 'Unskilled site volunteers' (to unload trucks, bag, distribute)

    • Marketing and publicity people to TELL the general public through the LOCAL media for each site about the Fair Foods 'value proposition' - $2/bag of produce

    • Expert fundraisers

    • 'Friends of Fair Foods' to participate in efforts to raise money for Fair Foods
    Social media 'talent' to publicize EACH of the 35 PUBLIC sites (that contributory effort can be done from one's home, regardless of the scheduled date and time of each site).

    • Artists - commercial grade artists who can REPRESENT the Fair Foods value proposition or value brand to the general public (to represent Fair Foods value more than to express oneself)

    In volunteers we seek:

    • Effective skills, results, followthrough, broad understanding of the needs of the general public for eating specifically nutrient-rich vegetables and fruits

    • Vegetarian or vegan KNOWLEDGE to quietly represent to the community AROUND the events

    Check with Fair Foods BEFORE going or attempting to go - [masked]
