I will be meeting you at the trailhead

Driving Time to Trailhead: 1 hour 39 minutes, 89.3 miles

Meetup Time at Trailhead: 9:00 am roughly.

Important: I will be meeting you at the trailhead. I am staying in South Lake Tahoe Saturday night. You need to organize yourselves at the meeting location in Sacramento.

Dogs: OK, you must have a dog first aid kit (tape, gauze, and more tape) Weather: Rain or Snow Cancels Elevation: 10,881 feet - Elevation gain from Armstrong trail 2,700 ft. Season: July-October

Carpool Location: Sunrise Park and Ride 11225 Trade Center Drive Rancho Cordova
Meeting Time: 7:00 am Water: Three Liters of Water is MANDATORY. You will be checked. Plus, water for your dog.
    Salt or electrolytes recommended.

    Class 1 boulder scrambling Route:
Difficulty: Strenuous, rock scrambling, (distance, elevation gain, high altitude, average elevation and oxygen deprivation).
11+miles, 4000 ft. of elevation gain. Count on a long day.

Trailhead: Drive east on Hwy 50 to Myers
Junction in Lake Tahoe, turn right on SR 89 drive towards Luther Pass. From the Luther Pass sign just before the descent to Hope valley go south 0.8 miles until you see a paved left turn. Turn left, the pavement ends abruptly and turns into a dirt road which may require a high clearance vehicle. Travel about 3.4 miles until you cross the second bridge and park on the left near the unmarked trailhead. The trail head crosses a new bridge back over the last stream crossing.

Trail: We will hike from the trail head to Armstrong Pass and head east on the Tahoe Rim trail to the top of Freel pass. From there a marked trail heads towards Freel Peak. We must stay on the trail to avoid disturbing the rare Draba plant. After reaching Freel Peak with views
of Lake Tahoe, we can then descend and climb back up to Job's sister. After summiting Job's Sister, we make a 1000-foot steep descent and re-climb back up to Job. From Job we get great views of the Carson valley and Gardnerville. The route back to the cars is mostly on trail via Horse Meadow.

    Thanks and Cheers!
