• Dinner and Movie Night (- and Brain Gym demo)

    We have dinner together at Junction 8, Bishan and then walk to nearby condo for a movie and light refreshments. My assistant organiser has selected an English comedy, "Everybody want Some?" This will be a great fun time to renew friendships and make new friends. If time permits I will also do a 15 minute Brain Gym demonstration to whet your appetite to sign up for the next meet up. Pay for your own dinner...other costs - you can donate any amount for room rental, etc....any extra money collected will be rolled over to the next event. You can also bring Popcorn and snacks to share. ;-)

    Macritchie Reservoir Mushroom Cafe

    We meet at at 7.20am- 7.30 am at the McRitchie Trial car park just outside the Mushroom Cafe. This is off Lornie Road qnd there is a right turn if you are on Lornie Road. The trial is around 60 minutes leisure walk , with picturesque views of the lake around a quiet jungle path. After the walk, we adjourn for a simple breakfast at the cafe. Kindly text me your number at[masked] to confirm that you are coming. It will be a great time of exercise and fellowship. Do bring along your camera for great nature shots. Many folk young and old there. You may want to put on some insect repellant but no one was bitten when a group of us went 3 weeks ago.

  • Call for applications: Playwriting Workshop for Seniors

    The Necessary Stage

    Are you a senior citizen who loves sharing your stories through creative writing? Join us for our Theatre for Seniors' Playwriting Workshop, targeted at participants aged 50 and above, with a keen interest in theatre and playwriting. Conducted by The Necessary Stage’s Resident Playwright and Cultural Medallion recipient Haresh Sharma, this workshop will introduce seniors to the basic elements of playwriting such as character, story and dialogue. Participants will have an opportunity to write a short play by the end of the workshop. The workshop will be conducted in English at the The Necessary Stage (278 Marine Parade Road, ‪#‎B1‬-02, Marine Parade Community Building, Singapore 44928). Participants must be able to commit to all 8 sessions of the workshop, to be held on Thursday evenings, 7.30pm – 9.30pm as follows: 7, 14, 21 April[masked], 12, 19 May[masked] and 23 June 2016 The course fee for this 8-session workshop is $160.     Involvement - a mature word. Chill out - a young word. So which will be you? We have been having many new members joining ; so it is a good time to meet and renew friendships if you do not know many of the young at heart. Bring name cards if you have; otherwise use your phone to connect. We will have a chatty evening and some activity planning may result too.     We go by bus and come back by bus. But first lets have tea and get to know each other. You don't have to decide to go until later. Lets meet each other and talk about it first.
