Tai chi is a gentle form of exercise, often described as "meditation in motion," but it might well be called "medication in motion."

There is a growing body of carefully conducted research building a compelling case for tai chi for the prevention and rehabilitation of many conditions commonly associated with age.

Arthritis - slow down the painful inflammatory symptoms Low bone density - maintain bone density in postmenopausal women Breast cancer - improve the quality of life of women recovering/suffering from breast cancer Heart disease - lower blood pressure, improved levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, insulin in people at high risk for heart disease Heart Failure - improve patient's ability to walk and quality of life during recovery Hypertension - lower blood pressure Parkinson's disease - improve balance, walking ability, and overall well-being Sleep problems - improve the quality and duration of sleep significantly more than standard sleep education Stroke - improve balance and coordination in stroke patients.
