We occasionally offer donation-based yoga and meditation classes in Central Park during the summer months, when the weather is nice. The "slow-flow" style of yoga we offer includes 5-10 minutes of mindfulness meditation, a comprehensive joint warm-up routine, unique sun salutations, and breath-centered posture sequences with an emphasis on sound alignment and skillful technique. The meditation practices that we engage in come primarily from the Theravadin Buddhist tradition, and include Shamatha ("calm-abiding"), Vipassana ("insight") and Metta Bhavana ("loving-kindness"). But we also resonate with practices and traditions found in Zen Buddhism, so some of what we do has a Zen vibe.
