What we're about

We live in a throw-away society, and most of us are part of a linear economy... buy stuff, use the stuff (often only once), possibly recycle the stuff a couple times before nearly everything ultimately ends up as garbage. Recycling is a damaged and maybe even failing system in this country and if we care about protecting the environment for future generations, we cannot rely on recycling as the golden standard of environmental consuming. This meetup is for anyone who is interested to learn more about the problem of trash, to discuss strategies to reducing trash, and to support each other on a path that currently is not very supported by our consumer, packaged, throw-away culture. It won’t be all gloom and doom!! This group is solution-oriented, meant to be inspirational, informative and hopefully a fun way to connect with like-minded people.
