Amazing Chocolates, Organic Sandwiches and Movie "Chocolat", 7/11

You are invited to a Triple Treat: Unique artisan chocolates that are a fusion of Indian flavors with traditional French technique, a tempting menu of organic food and drink, and a marvelous movie revolving around our favorite subject!

Organic Soul Cafe is happy to announce a new event in collaboration with the India based chocolate company Chockriti Chocolates. Complimenting the delectable offerings we will enjoy a screeening of the 2000 Award Winning Film "Chocolat" featuring an incomparable cast that includes Juliette Binoche, Johnny Depp, Judi Dench, Alfred Molina and Sally the Dog!

Choc” is for Chocolate, ”Kriti” means ”Work of Art” in Sanskrit and the Lotus represents purity.

Signature "Paan Truffles": Traditional India meets France with this truffle made with Betel nut leaves, gulkand (home-made raw organic rose petal preserve) and aromatic ingredients infused in a creme ganache and filled in hand prepared shells of dark chocolate.

Chocolat is a 2000 American-British romance film based on the novel of the same name by Joanne Harris, and directed by Lasse Hallström. Chocolat tells the story of a young mother (Juliette Binoche) who arrives at the fictional, repressed French village of Lansquenet-sous-Tannes with her six-year-old daughter and opens La Chocolaterie Maya, a small chocolaterie. Her chocolate quickly begins to change the lives of the townspeople. The film was shot Burgundy, France. It was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

I'm appalled! Pragati has run tastings before and runs a company producing her product. I'm sorry I had a minor medical emergency this evening that kept me from attending. Please accept my sincere apologies. I'll certainly follow up and try to find out what happened.

Last Tues and Wed., I was at the Fancy Food Show at the Javits Convention Center. I tasted really good chocolate from many countries, such as France, Germany, Ecuador and Brazil. Javits is a LOT easier for me to get to than 638 E. 6 St. This may seem odd to say, but I have never been that far east on 6 St or any other streets in that area. Maybe someday. Enjoy the food and film. I look forward to a notice about your next event. Cheers.
