Get even more connected via chocolate

All:

In addition to organizing this Meetup group I also publish DiscoverChocolate.com, as many of you know. I am in the process of winding down chocophile.com (and transferring the bulk of the content over to DiscoverChocolate.com) as well as a group on Ryze that I have been moderating for the last three years and MySpace is hopeless - too much spam.

In their stead, I have embarked upon several new activities.

The first is that I've started a "real" blog -- Cocoa Culture at http://www.cocoaculture.com. Here I post photos, quotes, conversations, etc., about chocolate. This is a one-way effort, there is no ability to respond in any way to what I post. It's a quick read so I invite you to drop by and maybe laugh and learn a little.

The second is that I have started a new group on Facebook. If you are a Facebook member, you can see the group's "home page" at the following URL:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7872082102

The third one is that I am looking to move DiscoverChocolate.com off a blog-style publishing platform and on to a social networking platform. This arrangement will enable members of the network to easily communicate and share with other members and not just listen to what I have to say. Everyone who is a member gets their own page (just like Facebook and MySpace) and can upload photos, videos, etc.

This social network thing is very much in the experimental stage and I don't know when or if I will use it as the primary software platform for DiscoverChocolate.com. I am inviting members of the Meetup group to be the tire kickers on this. If you want, please join, create your own pages, and start interacting with others. If it works, and is easy for people to learn to use and to use, then I will consider moving to it.

The URL of the home page is at:

http://discoverchocolate.ning.com/

Right now, it's a "free" account so there are lots of Google ads. If I end up using this platform I will make those go away.

I look forward to meeting many of you on-line at Facebook and on my social network experiment.

Thanks,
:: Clay
