A Fast and Scalable Payment Network with Bitcoin Duplex Micropayment Channels
Bitcoin does not scale, because its synchronization mechanism, the blockchain, limits the maximum rate of transactions the network can process. However, using off-blockchain transactions it is possible to create long-lived channels over which an arbitrary number of transfers can be processed locally between two users, without any burden to the Bitcoin network. These channels may form a network of payment service providers (PSPs). Payments can be routed between any two users in real time, without any confirmation delay. Dr. Christian Decker is a researcher from the Distributed Computing Group at ETH Zurich.
Welcome! This meetup group is for technologists, business people and everyone else interested in Blockchain technologies.
The organizers of this meetup have a long history in arranging Blockchain/Bitcoin events in the Bitcoin Meetup Switzerland group , which will be continued, of course. This group is founded to discuss new technology developments besides the ones in Bitcoin more broadly as well as Blockchain technology adoption across different sectors in general.
Members can expect high quality events, which will take place as workshops, demos, discussion groups, educational sessions and talks with various, international guest speakers.
Our goal stays the same: Bring like-minded people together and educate on new technologies.
Usually, events are free and everyone is welcome to join us!
