Last minute idea.
Since the weather is not that great, it is difficult to do interesting hikes up in the mountain. Nevertheless to stay in shape I propose to do a walk alongside the Thur River.
On a website the following text can be found"Quite often the Toggenburg is called "the green Thur valley". There is a lot to discover on a walking tour along the Thur river with its diverse sceneries and quaint villages. The walking tour starts in Wil and ends - after 60 km - in Wildhaus. All in all this hike will take about seventeen hours to complete. It is up to you to decide how long your daily hike is going to be. Since the tour takes you through various villages you can stop over whenever you like. Along the way, there are nice guesthouses, restaurants and connections with local transportation"
Depending on the sunny weather, the number and physical shape of the participants we can do a longer hike. Even if it rains I am still planning to do the hike, but obviously less than normal.
There is a train departing at 8.09 am arriving at 8.52 am in Wil, where we start hiking alongside the river. You should only buy a one-way ticket, since we do not know from where we will get the return train.
Please take rain gear, sturdy shoes, sun scream, good mood and picknick (for those who need some food along the trail) along. I am planning to stop and eat in a restaurant along the trail.
