Easy Going Ski/Snowboard in Flumserberg

Friday update: Concerning the train: destination is Unterterzen The train starts at 8:12 and arrives at 9:16 We should arrive around 9.30 at Tannenboden, and meeting point is 10.00 at Tannenboden in front of the lifts/shops. There is one change at Ziegelbruecke If you don't have a GA (General Abonnement), a skipass is a good deal. You can buy it at train stations, it includes both train and ski, and makes the train transfer almost free. Food: We will probably eat at Prodalp (easier to reach), though Seebenalp would be even better (they have super Roesti-rolls) Call on[masked] if you don't find the group. Cheers, and see you tomorrow! Guillaume Mid-week Update Very good news: Thanks to the current snow, Saturday will be very good! 7 slopes out of 16 are now open, snow will be powder, and Saturday will be sunny! --- We should arrive at Tannenboden around 9:30, those needing to rent skis can take them as we will do some first exercise on the blue track, back to Tannenboden again. For those which join us at Flumserberg, let’s meet at Tannenboden around 10, in front of the main shops/lifts. Call/SMS on[masked] if you have troubles finding the group. BTW don’t forget the helmet if you have one! Cheers, Guillaume Hi Members The ski season is back!! Let's storm Flumserberg!! We can enjoy a fondue later, and at least some Glühwein/hot chocolate before coming back to Zürich. Regards Guillaume

It was great fun, once everyone was sorted out.
It might be good to have two people co-ordinating the event,so one takes care of those who need to rent equiptment and the other person gets those who are ready,to have a hot drink, review the maps and get the skiing going.

Great snow and slopes. "User friendly" Ski lifts. Helpful people who responds to crisis quickly. ;) Thanks!

Guillaume, there are few stops at Tannenboden (as per sbb.ch:). Which one should be the meeting point? And is it a problem if arrive here ~ 10 min later? Thanks, I.

    Guillaume,
As i understand, the train station is Flums, Flumserberge (Sport)? What time r u gonna be there? As i'd go from Luzern directly, trying to catch your group at the train station. Btw, joining would be quite challenging for me as on Friday i'm having X-mas party at work:) But so much missing slopes and speed..

It sounds amazing, am a complete beginner and would love to start skiing soon !
Che, we can try to get some startup classes at a ski school

    November 23, 2010

  • Marta

This sounds like an excellent idea to start the season and get back in shape.
Che, I'm sure there's a ski school there where you can take a 1/2 hrs class if you are a beginner.

    November 22, 2010

  • Guillaume

Hi Che, it's actually not for total beginners, simply for people which already ski "averagely", and would enjoy a relaxed day over the mountain. good skiers can anyway go directly on red and black slopes and join later the group for lunch/hot wine

Is it worth for a total, never before, beginner? Any idea if they offer one day lessons?

    November 21, 2010

  • Guillaume

Hi Yenny, basically going down a few blue slopes to get back in shape, then going moderately on red ones. Black slopes will wait another day :) Is that ok for you?

Easy going, does this mean it is for beginners? :) I am a beginner.

I like the easy going nature of this meetup as I am not that experienced a skier and would like to find others of a similar ability, unfortunately, can't make this weekend but maybe another time?

    November 20, 2010

  • Guillaume

Hello Indre, it's for one day. Do not worry it is possible to rent at the ski resort, and it will still worth it.

    November 20, 2010

  • indre

p.s. Guillaume, is this a 1 day, or 2 days skiing? And if it's only 1 day, and i have to rent skies and shoes - won't it be too short time left for skiing? what do u think? But i deadly, just deadly want to feel the slopes
